I'm a reporter at Salon.com, and I'm fascinated by your project. I'd like to talk to some or many of you about your goals as well as how you're going about them. I've written often about how the iPhone's main failing is that it's locked (see links below); I'd like to ask some of you (on the phone or over e-mail or chat, anonymously if you'd like) about what you might do with a liberated iPhone (one that is both unlocked from AT&T and that runs other software). What uses do you see for such a device? Are you trying to load competing software -- Firefox? Skype? -- on it? Are such things even possible? What's the use of a WiFi/iPod without a phone?
