    Default jailbreak iphone 3g on 4.2.1 help please

    hi im trying to jailbreak and unlock and iphone 3g with redsnow o.9.6.b5 i follow all the intructions but when it goes into dfu mode it starts loading stuff on and then says waiting for reboot and thats it, it doesnt reboot just stays on that screen ive tried everthing

    try using a different usb port on your computer and make sure you follow the timing on the instruction that redsn0w gives you. The timing is critical

    i dont know if it makes a difference but it has has been jailbroken b4 but got wiped back to factory settings

    I assume you have restored an IPSW via iTunes after it was wiped back to factory settings.

    yes i did. when i wiped it it wouldnt start up so i had to restore it to get it working.

    I had the same problem, and the unplug trick didn't work for me either. However, what did work was to copy the redsn0w application AND the firmware .ispw file to the root directory of my hard drive. then it worked like a charm. (this was on a macbook, btw).
