What for should the upgrade be good for. I would let them test it all first.
Only if you really need to download movies and these things from itunes you need the update.
Or are there any other special features available?

P. S what does it mean when people are saying that the hacked 1.1.2 are not running Def mode on on the new itunes? That's what scared me from syincing my iPhone to the new iTunes. Thant again for all the responses.

If you want to re-install the older version of itunes, they are always available on filehippo
not sure how many itunes versions are available, but on filehippo they go back to 4.8.
Thats 25 versions of itunes all in one place, use the search at the top of their page to find any program, from AVG, to Ccleaner,
Link for itunes, - just click on the version you want.

Shift/Option still ok?
Can you still use Shift/Option and pick your firmware to restore the iPhone? Erica Sadun posted that she had to verify her account info with AT&T when she updated to 1.1.3. I'm not sure if she meant that she had to do this just for 1.1.3 or if you have to do this everytime you upgrade/restore with iTunes 7.6.
I've got an anysimed 1.1.1 phone so will I be able to restore to 1.1.1 in the future with iTunes 7.6?
