Hi,
my contacts are stored in Outlook 2007. It seems to be no problem to sync them to my iPhone. They appear on my phone as they are supposed to. There was only one issue. Not a single address was found by Google Maps.
After doing some extensive research I first found out that even if the country was displayed at the contacts address it was not preselected in the country field when editing the contact. After the country was manually selected in the iPhone the contact was found. It also survived syncing editing and resyncing in Outlook. Why? This lead me to the filethat stores the contact data.Code:/var/root/Library/AddressBook/AddressBook.sqlitedb
After browsing the database for a while I found out that there is a country code stored in the table ABMultiValueEntry in the records where the key is set to 1. I live in Germany therefore the country code was set to DE but the iPhone editing set it to de. So I replaced DE by de in the whole database and luckily all contacts were found by Google Maps.
Sounds great, but if new contacts are entered in Outlook they got synced to the iPhone with the DE code preventing them to be found by Google Maps.
Does anybody know where the translation of the country code takes place and may be how to fix it. It would be also helpful if you could give me some hints where to look because iTunes produces files everywhere.
Thanks in advance
dolittle
