[iTunes] iPhone software too old ?
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum but not the iphone unlocking/jailbreaking world. So last night I connected my unlocked/jailbreaked 1.1.3 iPhone to the pc. I opened up itunes and proceeded to sync my library. Itunes gave me a message saying that the iphone firmware on my phone was TOO OLD and therefore not all songs could be copied(the ones purchased from itunes). Has apple found a new way of restricting those who unlock/jailbreak and do not upgrade to the current firmware? I think it is rather stupid of them becuase really all it does is cause people to pirate songs from Limewire and the like instead of their itunes store. I googled this and couldnt find anybody with the same thing happening.

I was thinking about this and realized that if we arent able to unlock/jailbreak every new firmware apple releases we will not be able to transfer our music from itunes. Has anyone else even seen this issue?

you might either want to grab a fresh 1.1.3 ipsw and restore to it or upgrade top 1.1.4....

Hey buddy, I've been reading your reply in pretty much each single post of this forum ( no wonder you have more than 2000 posts in just about a couple of months ) . 80% of the time all you can say is "restore to 1.1.4". People are asking for real answers, related to their questions. No disrispect to you : I really appreciate your effort of giving your contribution to this forum, but you are not really helping anyone. If you do not have the right answer , keep reading , do not post.

it wont be anything to do with a jailbroken phone, itunes does not check for that (at this time
)
Like law said, it does sound like a restore should fix it. Make sure you do a restore and not an update, updates are not very clean. But, just to confirm, go into Settings -> General -> About and see what version you have got. Also, what version is your iTunes?

Oh no im just saying that Apple is now keeping people from staying on an older firmware until the new one is able to be unlocked. I restored to 1.1.4 and am fine now but if in the future there was a firmware like 1.1.2 OTB was that cannot be immediately unlocked we will not be able to put our songs on.

:hack: You know, most of the problems that people are facing can only be easily/rapidly solved by restoring instead of wasting time trying dozens of things to finally restore
