Default iTunes doesn't recognize my iphone. A restore the only solution? Backup your SMS?

Hi guys, my iPhone is a 1.1.3 unlocked and everything.

Yesterday I was loading some video on to my iphone using iPhone PC Suit and then all of a sudden itunes stoped recognizing my iphone and wanted me to do a restore. It had recognized my phone just minutes ago. I guess iPhone PC Suit messed with the phone :/

Anyone have any idea on how to fix this without a full restore?

Oh and does anyone know how to backup all yout text messages, if it turnes out that I'll have to do a full restore. I've found a sms.db, is that all I need?

    Thanks guys!

Edit: This is the whole message I get in iTunes
"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone. Go to Summary tabd in the iPhone preferences and clock Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings."

And i've also read that it might work to "erase all content and settings" from the iphones settings>general>reset tab. I don't know if it'll erase all my info on the phone. I guess so, so i'd like to be able to do a backup of my text messages before erasing everything.

2 leave your iphone off the computer for a few hours then try again

Thanks for the fast reply. I did try that yesterday with no luck. I was hoping that iTunes at work would be able to recognize the phone but no luck there either. I get the feeling that it's something with the phone.

Found this guide on how to backup your sms etc. Seems like the sms.db file is the only thing you need. Awsome =)

becareful now, i did a restore aftre that happend a while back and itunes still didnt read it and left me at the activate screen, restoring should be a very last resort as you might end up with a fresh iphone and having to just hacktivate it

Yeah a full restore would be the last thing i'd want do to. Luckily I won't need it now =) I did the "erase all content and settings" and after that iTunes recognied my phone. It asked me if i wanted to restore a backuped file with my contacts and everything aswell. The backup file was a bit old tho so all my new text messages didn't get back. I uploaded the sms.db file i backuped manually just a minute ago and that worked like a charm.

Oh and the "erase all content and settings" didn't erase my applications. Great success =)
