Unhappy "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone", error (0xE8000004)..??

hi all, got up today and plugged my iPhone into my MBP as usual to top off the battery and saw that it started charging so i went about my business as usual checking things on the web. a while later i went over to iTunes and noticed that my iPhone was not showing up as connected there, so i unplugged and replugged the USB cable to see if that corrected it. when i reconnected, it buzzed twice and started charging again, but w/ iTunes open i see a window pop up w/ the following message:

iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "" because an unknown error occured (0xE8000004).

the phone does not show up in iTunes at all now, although it is still reachable through the finder through AFP... very confused, never heard of this issue before. i have not made any changes to the phone that might explain why it suddenly is not connecting to iTunes, can anyone make a suggestion or shed some light on this error perhaps?

    thx in advance friends...

Got the same error a couple of days ago.
A simple restart of the computer solved the problem.I m guessing that it has to do with itunes and not the iphone.
Also bear in mind that the pc i was using, ended up with a damaged motherboard which gave me ram errors, but probably it has nothing to do with your case.
