I bought a o2 locked iPhone last week and bought a few apps from the apple store.....
tried to unlock it and failed. I need an unlocked iPhone and no robust method exists for latest BB/OS.

Im collecting a factory unlocked one on Monday - do I need to do anything to migrate my recently purchased apps across to new iphone or will they transfer automatically or be lost to the old phone?

To use the apps you purchased on any future iPhone or iPod Touch they only have to be in iTunes. From there you may sync them to any iPhone. If they are not in iTunes cause you downloaded them on the iPhone and dont have access to the iPhone, buy them again via iTunes. You will get them for free. This is a different behavior than we know from songs and videos you purchasen, I know. But it works with apps.
