1- A "scam" by definition is "any fraudulent business scheme". "Fraud" in turn implies "deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair gain."

Therefore, all robberies are scams, but not all scams are robberies. A robbery is physical theft. Robbing someone implies physical displacement of items. Copyright infringement, for example, is not theft.

2- I think you need to retake Economics 101 because "free market" doesn't mean what you think it means, and is in effect irrelevant to this discussion. But nice work trying to make me say something I never did. Selling software is a scam because it will be illegally hacked? Unfortunately the world cannot be reduced to black & white elements, and metaphors detract from the greater picture. So let's break it down: ISM found a way to unlock the phone, but they cannot distribute the method without teaching it to other people. So they are withholding knowledge, the universal currency which in most doctrines and faiths shall be made free and shared for the betterment of humanity. They are not withholding innovation, physical creations, or intellectual property.

Basic psychology dictates that you are trying to make yourself feel better about paying the "scammers", by--I said this before--being emotionally invested, and defending them. Of course that is your right to freely do, just as it is my right to share my opinion on this forum, and your right to continue to respond rudely (this scenario is commonly known as a flamewar on the internets)

That's what you get for asking me to turn on the brain
    ROTFL.

The company has developed a software which is of their property.
The company wants to sell the software.
The company can ask consumers whatever price they want, even a trillion dollars, and they are perfectly entitled to do so. They can do it as long as 1) Everything is legal, and 2) What they are selling effectively is what they say they are selling. If not it's a scam, a robbery, a theft, you get the point i guess (hope).

Saying that the company is scamming because their software will be hacked and distributed for free in a couple of days...well, thats beyond logical comprehension.

    Its quite simple, really.

    Hi All,

    You know what's odd?!?!?!!?

"jprooney" started a pool amounting to almost 100 pieces (licenses). The payment method was through PayPal as instructed. Then, I found "jprooney" putting himself/herself down for 2 licenses in a forum authored by "Trash" who started selling single licenses off of Ebay AUS.

Why would someone go thru the effort and pool together 20 some user amounting to 100 licenses and buy 2 from someone else???

You said this once already in this post... why post a second time? Got another agenda? Just shut up about him, people can decide whether they trust him or anyone else selling 1/50th buy in etc...

I expect he's hedging his bets in case he can't pool sufficient licenses together himself. Or maybe it's to check it works just on his own phones before he pays $1800 himself on behalf of 50 ppl.

Thx Guy, another "anonymous" (but brand new member) has set up a new thread - guess what, making exactly the same point, word for word!!

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4468

Motive? Personal agenda? Dunno, but it's very annoying...

Does anyone else find it a little odd that a guy named "Spook75" and a guy named "Guy88" have been dropping the same posts all over this forum.

Personally I have a hard time trusting a guy named "Spook".

i'd LOVE to support the devteam over iphonesimfree, but to be honest... i'm starting to feel the same way about them as iphonesimfree... it's been weeks since any word on anything software unlock related at all, and i'm more interested in testing an available option, even at the cost of $36 if CNN and Engadget have witnessed it. if the devteam were to say something as simple as "it's coming... soon" or something to that degree, i'd wait and donate... but I haven't heard anything from them yet.
