I want to restress this for the non-believers. It was done on RYAN BLOCK'S OWN PHONE. They didn't just whip out a pre-unlocked model to show him, they unlocked his own one for him. Ryan has stated this multiple times in multiple posts.

I want to thank Trash for his efforts in making our dream, the unlocked iPhone, come true as fast as possible.
I just made the payment and me and my iPhone are sitting here in Switzerland waiting...

Sorry, I am missing something or is Trash not running a business? I mean, I am also buying an unlock from him and I wish him all the best,...but he will earn a few grand on this I hope. He's not doing this altruistically or as a form of charity.
That said, you are of course welcome to praise him all you want :-)

Let me see if I understand this correctly.
I can buy the SimUnlock software when it comes out for $50 with no promise of it working with future updates or I can spend $120 and buy a HyperCard that works even after an update.
Is that correct?

No. Both can stop working after an update.

you mean a TurboSIM which is sold out world wide, and is only available on eBay for well over 500$ ?
If so... you are correct
