    Here you go:
    http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/0...oldering-iron/

Interesting references to the team behind it, and why they chose to do what they do. Name the one team that is anonymous? The Dev Team? Sounds a lot like it could be them.

wow, why does everyone keep saying iphonesimfree = dev team. They clearly said they weren't and already said they will be releasing their software free of charge. If it was their intention to charge for it, they could have simply kept all the programs and findings secret, making them the only people that will ever supply the unlock. Geez. This forum is full of idiots.

yeah, there are alot of speculative keyboard cowboys here. Good article and time will tell if this is for real or not. I do understand that they want to remain incognito, using distributors for the software is a genius way of getting paid while staying ahead off the legal BS.

Chill out folks, there are about 1000 posts on here with people who dream up all kinds of shite, Go outside, get a tan, and smell the Ozone...it will come one way or the other.

Have to agree. This forum is full of idiots: inconsiderate idiots assuming that everybody, who makes a post here, has read every other post in the forum's history.

I simply found the NY Times interesting, and their premise is much similar to that of the Dev Team. Apart from the fact (at least publicly announced fact) that Dev Team is not apparently interested in making a buck.

It's great to know there are obviously many teams out there, trying to unlock the phone. If they get press in Engadget and NY Times, I am having great expectations for iPhoneSimFree.

I even have faith in www.uniquephones.com. Unlocking phones is their business. I've also ordered a TurboSIM through their Czech retailer, who is one of their business partners (at least I have my TurboSIM back-ordered and in the que, before Bladox opens the e-shop again).

From my point of view, I don't care a) who releases the unlock first, b) do they get paid for it (I'll gladly pay) and c) will I have to use TurboSIM as a temporary solution.

Point is, things are accelerating. A week ago there were no articles in Engadget or NY Times, about a rather immediate software unlock. Signs are promising. Let's wait and see.

And I DO hope that the Dev Team gets great rewards for their efforts, publicly or by some arrangements (that probably shall remain undisclosed).

    Klaus
