    Default iPhone's AT Command Set

Here's a list of all the AT commands supported by iPhone. I'm trying to dial out via minicom. I've managed to make the iPhone join the network (Rogers in Canada), and I can see incoming calls (displays 'RING'), I can even answer the call (ata)... But I cannot dial. When I try atdt phonenumber, it tries for 3 seconds then returns 'NO CARRIER'. I'm probably not setting something properly.

Here's the list of AT commands supported on the iPhone and here's some reference from an unrelated phone that I used to get where I am now...

I would guess that GSM dialling is a little different than touch-tone dialling. ATDT probably just generates the tones on the line (useful for telephone menus, etc).

Apparently if you keep getting 'NO CARRIER' the provider might not have setup your data properly..... (According to a random google search). While I thought this might have fallen under your voice plan, it is possible since this is a Blackberry sim and I don't think I had the ability to tether my BB and allow it to be used as a modem...

I'm switching my plan in the morning and will try again...

I was able to join the network properly:
    AT+COPS=0 <Join network automatically>
    OK
    at+cops?
    +COPS: 0,0,"Rogers Wireless"
    OK
    ATD XXXXXXXXXX
    NO CARRIER <after 3 seconds>

They are commands that are to be issued in minicom (available in Cydia). In a terminal (MobileTerminal in the phone, or PuTTY in Windows, or ssh in a Mac terminal) you start minicom, make some preparations (you can do a search fir that) and then issue one or more commands.

It's not certain that this will still work, since this thread is 2 1/2 years old. Good luck.

By the way, was it necessary to quote that entire list?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

    ATD XXXXXXXXXX;

    should work

    Hello,

Is minicom working on iPhone 4-4.0 ?
I'm trying, i've put serial port "/dev/tty.debug", but when I send a command, (with echo on), it says offline on the bottom of the screen and no answers from the iphone... =S
