Me parece que de momento no vas a poder usar el Iphone ni con Vodafone ni ninguna otra compaņia que no sea AT&T, solo podras usarlo como Ipod. Hasta que no salga algo que lo desbloquee nada.

Confirmed, I am in the process of swapping my Treo Orange account to Vodafone for their new cheap data plan rates, and the proprietor of said store was very keen to see my new iPhone
She confirmed that the AT&T sim in the phone can't be activated over here, and that a Vodafone SIM won't work in the iPhone if it's network locked as per the fiveforty wiki.
She let me know about the normal unlock techniques, and if it's baseband 5 then it's going to be very tricky for EU importers of US iPhones with AT&T unactivated SIMs in to get working.
However I'm still not sold on the BB5 argument - where is the chip on the logic board of the iPhone to support this? All info so far points to BB5 needing a separate TI coprocessor with its own OS, which is not present on the iPhone.
May be some barking up the wrong tree here. I'm hoping that a keygen is all that's required....

(unless your mom, or your dad. or your uncle, or your grandfather, or your very kind friend or neighbor has one super computer and keen to let you use it to hack the 1024 bit key) otherwise without a networked software combined with 1000s of people to hack the key, it will be another 3-4 months untill the launch of new iphones for comparison

i believe they will upgrade some hardware and some software backdoors

which will make it not easier to compare... cheers
dont think i will help much but i have free access to a supercomputer that runs at nearly 100tflops, well saying i have fee access is a lie because i would not have a clue how to use the thing but know the professors that run it at a university that i work at, they are always up for challenges, if it's of any use then just say so and i will put foward the idea to them???????
