    Default iPhone warranty claim (out-of-country)

    Hi all,

My 2G iPhone has the bubble under the glass problem.
I think it appeared only a few weeks after I purchased it but I thought it was an air pocket underneath my screen protector.
It wasn't until last week that I removed the protector and realized it's under the glass.

Anyway, I called Apple and they said I should go to the retail store and make a warranty claim.
However, I purchased the iPhone in Tennessee, but I live in Canada.
It's been unlocked and I use it with Rogers up here.
The 2G was never sold in Canada.

What course of action should I take?
Has anyone had a 2G iPhone warrantied in Canada?
Should I restore the firmware back to original and take it to an Apple store south of the border?

I very much appreciate everyone's advice on this.
    Thanks.

I tried to get my 3G replaced in Hong Kong because of hardware issues. They wouldn't do it. What you can do though is to contact Apple over the phone/email and I'm pretty sure they will mail you another one. That is what they said I could do in Hong Kong. I was only in HK for a few days, when I returned to Japan I had it replaced that day.

Hong Kong doesn't even have an Apple store, so that was probably the biggest issue with it. All of the 3G iPhones are sold by the cell phone companies there.

Is yours younger than 1 year old?
