My old contract with nextel is finally over (jumps in excitement). Now I am switching to t-mobile. But before I make the switch I want to get an iphone and unlock so I can use it with tmobile.

My question is that if I buy the iphone, can I unlock it straight out of the box and start using tmobile with it or do I have to go through the activation with at&t first to activate the phone or w/e is necessary and then switch sims and do t-mobile. Or do like I said b4, right when I take iphone out of box, switch sim cards, then turn phone on and go through process to unlock it and all that.

B/c im thinking if I have to do the at&t way first, that I would have to pay for there plan just to turn the iphone on or something or am I wrong about that? u know wut I mean?

also i have the new version of itunes.... I remember hearing that u cant have the latest version or something wont work... or was that just for the ringtones?

How much diff is the t mobile network then the at&t? once i have t-mobile can I still use safari and all that?

plz someone let me know.

is the iphone really worth it to put on the tmobile network as my first phone for it?

dude.. u can activate right out of the box... just use the anySIM GUI unlock...

Yes you can unlock straight out of the box and then use your tmobile sim card. I used this method to unlock 5 out of the box iphones then used tmobile sim.

I have tested youtube, safari, maps etc and they work using WIFI. I haven't tested tmobile edge yet.

Only you can tell if iphone is worth it on tmobile network. I think it depends on how you will use the phone and its other features. Personally, Im not using my iphone yet because I have other stuff on my pda phone that iphone doesn't have. Im just unlocking for my friends/family and for the fun of it.
