Question iPhone Tool Activation - Annoyance

After activating my iPhone with the tool, everytime I connect it to iTunes it takes me to the AT&T activation screen. This in itself is not a huge problem, as I just need to press cancel, and it takes me to the sync screen.

But this means that if i'm not connected to the internet, I just get an error when it tries to load the activation screen, and I can't get to the sync screen. Is this normal?

Also, syncing seems slow compared to my previous iPods. Anyone know anything bout that?

I just continue to use the modified itunes.exe. Going back to the original one will continue to cause it to prompt for activation since it was hacked and its not a true activation. And since I dont buy anything from itunes I dont care that it cant get to the albert.apple.com server to connect to the itunes store.

Since I haven't tried this yet, this may be a little speculative.

Once you have Activated your phone, try reverting back to your unaltered copy of iTunes, and see if that fixes your problem. And now your phone has been activated you can also *probably* remove the extra line in your hosts file.

Also, once activated you should be able to remove the SIM card which I know was causing some people problems.

Again, I'm afriad this is spectualtion based on what I have read.

    Hope that helps

I didnt use the jon hack, I used the tool for MacOSX, which means I havent altered any iTunes, nor any host files. I only ran the tool through the terminal, and ta-da, iPhone activated.

I'll see if removing the sim does anything...

Oops sorry... my fault for assuming you'd used the DVD Jon activation solution... not sure what else to suggest I'm afraid...

... but I bet someone here will have some ideas.

    Good luck
