Default IPhone in target made - how do I get out??

I tried to do the update through itunes to 1.02 software. Everything was going fine but then about half way through the install I get an error message. From that point on I can not get out of target mode (yellow triangle with exclamation point). I tried to do a total restore but once again I get an error message. I've tried holding down the power button and home button for 30 seconds - still target mode.

Now when I just press the power button the apple logo appears and then the target mode appears saying please connect to itunes.

What can I do?? Any help would be appreciated. My iphone was activated on a mac with IPhoneAct. Having really done any major modifications. I had laucher and a few other apps installed. I'm really hoping this isn't anything major??

you can connect to iTunes, it will say, hey you have a iPhone in Restore mode (I guess thats what you mean by target mode) and offers you to reflash it completely. Takes a few minutes and will complete.

I had the same after typing launchctl's bootstrap command (assuming it would reboot or reload all launchctl processes but instead it goes and stays in restore mode).

I have the same problem. I've tried restoring a dozen times, always the same result: halfway down the "Restoring iPhone Firmware" process, I get a message saying "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1011)" -- and I'm back at the yellow triangle in the iPhone. HELP, please!?!?!?
