iPhone stuck in Restore-Mode
Hi there,
I have been arround here a lot and read serveral posts.
But none seems to help me out with my problem.
I have an jailed and locked iphone 1.1.1, 5 days old, with no AT&T-Registration.
It froze when calling myself with *#307# etc. in order to activate/jailbreak.
So I restored the software FW 1.1.1 with itunes (starting up in DFU-Mode and restoring with pressing alt, ect.)
It ended up with the error 1611.
So I tried to restore with FW 1.0.2, this made me get unknown error (1).
This happens with all the other Firmware similary, and I can only start up in Recovery-Mode with the itunes-logo and the cable-symbol. Only iNdependence can bring it back to the start-screen with planet earth, but after sliding to unlock ist always chrashes and starts up in Recovery-Mode with the itunes-logo and the cable-symbol. I simply can't get to the second recovery-mode having a yellow triangle.
What would make me really happy would be just to have an iphone back running in any firmware. Does it make sense to restore to 1.1.2, but that would mean I will not be able to unlock and jailbreak it, doesn't it?
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanx

Since your phone originally comes with 1.1.1, I reckon that it will be best to restore to 1.1.1. Can you check your baseband version, if it's 3.14.xx then restore your phone to 1.0.2. If it's 4.01.xx then go to 1.1.1.
To check bb when in inactivated mode, use *3001#12345#*
Hope that helps.

Unfortunally I can't get to dailing any number, ot even the field-testing one.
As soon as I slide the Button to unlock the whole iphone reboots and comes back into "recovery Mode" with the itunes-logo and the cable-symbol.
Therefore I got no clue, whiche basband-version is on my iphone.
I only know it was originally FW 1.1.1.

go to windows, and use ibrickr.
this method helped me yesterday.

Thanx for your support.
But it didn't help either.
Do you mean upgrading to 1.1.2 will help?

Have you tried putting the phone in the cradle and holding both sleep & home buttons for 30 seconds?

Thanx, Yes.
Didn't change anything in my situation.
Do you think I can go back to Apple and complain?
I haven't hacked the phone yet with anything.
I only tried to get one FW running, and this failed...
