thing just keeps relooping it was on 4.1. i keep trying to jailbreak with redsn0w_win_0.9.6b4 but it always stops at "mounting rootfs as read write error" . Ive tried resetting with itunes but nothing will work. Any idea's Thanks

Try a DFU restore, connect to computer, launch redsn0w, select enter DFU mode, follow instructions and restore.

I tried doing dfu mode with redsn0w then doing restore with itunes but the iphone gets stuck on a white screen when doing restore with itunes then i get error 1601...this thing is stubborn

Restart your computer, try another one. In case it still fails post the restore log.
