    For those of you who're stuck at the apple logo screen, did you install any 3rd party apps, notably the one that modifies the SpringBoard (i.e. SummerBoard)? If so, you may want to check out /var/logs/CrashReporter/ and see if SpringBoard is crashing repeatedly.

    For this particular case, you'll need to ssh to it (or use iBrickr to get the file, modify it and put it back) and remove the SummerBoard reference in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist

    Here's what you should remove from that file:
    ====================
    <key>DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES</key>
    <string>/Library/Frameworks/SummerBoard.framework/SummerBoard.dylib</string>
    ====================

    Once you're done editing, reboot the iphone and you'll get your screen back.

    I don't use summerboard or other apps on my iPhone, only ssh/sftp. But I'll try to analyse the log.
    It may be a corrupted springboard.app.
    My faulty iPhone is "bizarre" : it work 2/3 days, then is stuck on Apple logo for 4/5 days, then work for 2/3 days, then stuck on Apple for 4/5 days, …
    When it's stuck, iTunes see it, I can synchronize, …
    Restore doesn't solve the problem.
    Amazing !

    Hey CaptainDickei..
    Congrats.. I have the boot-problem, too.
    How did you manage to activate your iphone again after the 1.1.1 update?
    Have you activated it with the original AT&T method?

    Thanks for help..

    Azzo

    hey captain, is your iPhone still works ?
    Mine is software unlock, so I can't try the new firmware.
    I'll wait for news from dev team.

    I figured that since the iphone was stuck at the apple logo (which made it unusable) and if i did get it replaced i would most likely get one with the new firmware so i went ahead with the upgrade and it miraculously it did fix the "stuck at boot" issue.
    Unfortunately now i have an unactivated, locked ibrick with the imei that is not the same as the one on the back...oh well, im sure the dev-team will come up with a solution eventually. Even if i just get it to activate in the future it will be still as good as an ipod touch with a camera...
