I need some help please.

I've noticed around every 2-3 days, it will happen again... when I try to wake up my phone from sleep status, the phone will not respond and only show up with a black screen with nothing on it.

I will need to restart it with sleep button + home button in order for it to work again, sometimes it takes 2 min , sometimes it takes 4 min.

Anyone have a solution for that?

I am running 1.1.1

This can happen, if your phone is jailbroken and you have installed 3rd party apps.

Try to ssh in it and check which process are launched with the "top" command.
You can list the whole thing here, we maybe can try to help by finding the culprit.

thanks for your reply, how can I use SSH to look at the process? i am quite new to iphone.

What is you computer's operating system ?

hi!i have exactly the same problem!!
The phone also freezes while doing normal things like ending a call!
But most of the time it crashes just like yours....

How can I check the processes with Windows xp?

Don't you think that it's a hardware issue?

P.S. I'm having this problem since 1.0.2.currently i'm running 1.1.2

my phone hanged again today

when i am trying to receive a call , i will need "slide" to listen... while the other person just hang up the call. and system hang. I cannot jump into the general menu and it freeze on the slide menu... Restart solved the problem

did you connect your phone to any audio appliances?

No I did not connect it to any audio appliance.

Usually when i send a call to it it brings the phone out of sleep mode and lets me answer it and that sometimes clears up the problem. but yesterday it didnt work and i had to restart it.

I do connect it to my iStation every now and then but never put it in airplane mode. (iStation is old! originally used for my 3G iPod.)

does it affect this issue at all?
