    Default iPhone Screen Scratched

Hello Gang -- I am desperate.

I managed to scratch my iPhone screen. A small grain of sand left a 1 inch vertical scratch in the center of the screen. It leaves a rainbow effect that is painfully noticeable when in Notes, Calendar or any .app with a solid background.

Can anyone confirm a fix for a scratched screen?

    What about this product?

    http://www.rkdm.com/liquidlense/index.htm

It's an unlocked, re certified iPhone - so i fear returning it is not an option.

    HELP!!!

It could, worth a try anyway. Just make sure to test it on an inconspicuous area first.

I don't think the iPod screen is made from the same materials as the iPhone. So im not sure if that would work for iPhones

next time, just be more careful. Anyway, perhaps getting a screen protector might help. I've heard that some screen protectors can actually make scratches less visible. Just make sure you get a nice one. Don't be cheap and order some five dollar P.O.S.

None of these will help. They are meant for plastic screens and work by either:

    a) polishing the plastic surface, so it becomes level with the scratch (or nearly level), or
    b) polishing and melting the plastic around the scratch, to the same effect.

iPhone's screen is made from mineral glass, not plastic!
I think there was a site mentioned somewhere, that sells replacement glass panels, but i can't remember where. iFixIt doesn't sell it (only the complete display assy), but it probably wouldn't hurt asking them, i guess.

Buy those clear plastic screen protectors... I got a 24 pack of them on ebay for like $8
