    Default iPhone screen black with "iPod" as carrier name???

    Hi, please help as my iPhone has gone haywire. It is a 1.1.2 jailbroken and all was well when suddenly a few minutes ago it switched to a black screen with "iPod" as the carrier logo. The iPod feature is the only thing that is working as I cannot access anything else at all, the Springboard is totally black apart from the time and battery icon and a thinnr dock with no icons at the bottom.

    I see that many people have had this problem such as here http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...ustomize+1.1.1 but I don't know what to do - please can anyone tell me, in laymen's terms, what I need to do to get my iPhone back to how it should be? I do not know how to write files to my phone and do not have Wi-fi.

    I will seriously reward anyone who can help as I am panicking I have lost all of my photos and personal precious data.

    Hi, thank you for your reply, iTunes comes up with a window that says "iTunes has detected an error with your audio configuration, your media files may not play properly" - it will not open other than that.

    You probably installed something with installer or changed some setting using a jailbreaked program or some other method.

    If you know what you did you can possibly reverse it.

    However - if you are stuck with it saying iPod all you can do is RESTORE it using itunes.

    You may as well upgrade to 2.0 pwnage unlocked now.

    I had this happen to me many times on 1.1.2 when I tried to add international keyboards... all that I could do was restore.

    Restoring is easy - and although you have to resync everything (and if your jailbreaking again do NOT restore from backup) it will fix the problem.

    Don't worry just restore!

    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    <----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)
