iphone is saving contacts in hidden place, and not syncing to exchange
Im new to this and not sure how to post a thread, while im here ill tell you my problem and see if you can help me??
I have my iphone linked to exchange, but for some reason when i store new numbers to my iphone they dont update on my exchange contacts, infact they seem to store in a strange place, its as if they are storing on the sim, but I know thats not possible. when I save a new contact in outlook on the exchange server outlook it updates on the phone no problem. so its like the iphone is saving new contacts in a hidden place.
I did a system restore to original firmware, restored backup still same problem, I then did another system restore to original firmware and then without restoring system backup just added my exchange settings, added a new contact to the iphone and it updated my exchange contacts straight away. but of coarse now my phone is basically set as factory default...
I would be happy to just go on from here sync my iphone with songs, apps, pics, etc etc... to itunes but I have hundreds of important sms messages that I need on my phone! does anyone know how to pull my old sms's from my backup and merge them with my new software update on the phone?
or, does anyone know what the reason for my contacts not saving properly in the first place? that would be a whole lot easier!!!!!
can i post this problem? Im not sure how to do so.....?
What iOS version are you running? Do you have more than one exchange connection configured?
Did you backup your backup before you set iPhone up as new? iTunes generally overwrites your existing backup when you set up iPhone as new.
