Default Iphone / Safari and limitations of sites (newby)

Just bought an iphone 3g (my first smartphone) and whilst I am keeping this in perspective and bearing in mind that this is a phone at the end of the day.... but I'm interested to know why the safari browser works on some sites but has errors, won't display pages or just won't work full stop on some sites ?

    Can you provide some examples?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

Sorry I was so long in replying, I don't think I had notification set and didn't know you had answered.
I noticed a few issues with the first banking website I logged onto, but since then I've realised that it does work fine, it was just a fluke error, and infact more sites that I originally thought work just fine.

    Thanks

    Paul
