Hi. I'm thinking of buying an iPhone with the intention of using it with a prepaid at&t (pick-your-plan). I don't have a SSN as I'm a foreign student. I know this has been doable in the past, but an at&t sales rep I talked to said they stopped that option at the end of last year. Of course, I don't trust a word of what he says, but at least it meant I couldn't buy from his store.

However, he might of course tell the truth. And now that it looks like the newest iPhones won't be hacked for a while, I don't want to end up with a 399 brick. Does anyone know if the prepaid option still works, and in that case how, or is that option shut down for good?
