Default iPhone Open Source Packages Now Available!

The following open source packages are now available at http://iphone.natetrue.com:

    Apache 1.3.37
    SSH2 3.2.9.1 (Full distribution, clients/servers)
Python 2.5.1 (Build 6, Many modules fixed)
    WebShell 0.8.0
iPhone-Binkit 0.05 (vim, top, tcpdump, kext tools, minicom, route, ifconfig, cron, netcat, and many others)

With build 6 of python and SSH2, it is now possible to set up WebShell to obtain a usable shell on your iPhone through iPhone's Safari. The HOWTO can be found here: http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/index.php/Webshell

Many other open source tools are in the works, including a perl distribution. Stay posted.

    Hi,

I am new to Unix and was wondering if somebody can give a tip please. Installed
all bin packages and trying to run minicom, but get some termcap error.
Do i have to install something additional to make minicom to work ?

    Thanks

You should be able to use a SCP client to place files on the phone once you have the SSH server working on the phone.

Then you can use the SCP client just like a FTP client, but it connects to the SSH daemon running on your phone.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have the phone with full write access. I have the SSH working,
I can do chmod, i have the NORDumper working, just when i try to run the minicom
application i got different errors, based on the arguments - some configuration file
is missing, the termcap database is missing, or tty.baseband entry is missing in the
    database.

The first problem was that the minicom was looking for config file in /usr/local/etc,
i have downloaded some file called minirc.dfl but was unable to to create this dir(Permision Denied),
so i had to hex edit the executable to point to /etc and put the file there.
Then the error change to termcap database not found.

Basically i have no idea what i am doing. Any help will be useful.

    Regards

Try to install BSD subsystem trough installer (search forum how to do it). Don't forget to have your connected to internet via wifi, because installer load sources from his remote server.
    It should help!
    Good luck in unlock
