iPhone not recognized by iTunes
Hello,
I have upgraded my PC from Vista to Windows 7 x32 bit in order to test it out, but now iTunes does not recognize my iPhone or my gf's. Im ok because I have my iPhone stuff on my macbook, but my gf is unable to update her iPhone. I have the latest iTunes (8.0.2) and her iPhone is a 1st gen 8gb on 2.2 My macbook recognizes it fine but not my PC. I tried to do a search on google and here, but couldnt find anything to solve the probelm and now Im hoping someone here can help find a resolution. Thnx for the help.

Windows 7 is still beta. Go back to Vista and try again. Good luck

Thought about that, but I cant find my Vista disc. When pluggen in, the iPhone shows as a digital camera only. SO the PC knows it is there, but the drivers are wrong and thats waht prevents it from being recognized on iTunes. I tried to manually install the iPhone drivers but nothing either. Other than this WIndows 7 is much better to use than Vista. Cant wait for the retail release.

Well they may be but this isnt the place to discuss it and as i see it the"other than" this part of your post is that u cant sync your iphone, which is vital as far as i m concerned. As duck9000 said,u should probaly go back to vista(and create a dual boot if u still want windows 7 beta)or wait for proper drivers.

There is a way for your iphone to be recognize again but you may need to use another account, try creating a new account(user profile in vista) and sync your iphone on that account. since it is a new user name, it will recognize it as a new iphone. i had the same problem before but eventually i endedup losing everything on the iphone but was able to sync it eversince.

my computer and iTunes would not recongnize my iphone.... so i had to update my drivers.
I fixed it by going to “Device Manager”, right clicking on “Apple iPhone” under “Portable Devices” and selecting the “Update Driver Software”. The appropriate drivers are stored under “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple”. After the successful driver update, your iPhone will happily show up under the “USB Controller” indicating that the phone is ready for action. I’ve found many people having similar problems ....glad to help out anyway i can.
