iphone message problem: restoring time!
Hi, i bought an iphone last week and jailbroke, activated and unlocked it using iliberty+. Doing this i downgraded the bootloader to 3.9fb using iliberty+. According to 'about' on my phone i have version 1.1.4 (4A102) and modem firmware 04.04.05_G. For some reason i just dont seem to receive most of the texts messages sent to me! Through some research i found people suggesting to completely restore the phone. I would like to do this, completely back to its out of the box state. Will itunes restore do this for me if i put my phone into restore mode? Do i need to revert the bootloader back to version 4.6 before i do this? Will this completely restore everything on my phone that could be causing the phone to not receive messages?? thanks very much, im really worried about this!

thanks, i tried this and you are right i can now send and receive sms! i would still appreciate it if someone could help me completely restore my phone, because since i have posted this my installer.app just terminates as soon as i try to install a package! i think i would be best off with a clean iphone so i can start again if someone can help me with this. Thanks very much for fixing my sms problem!

Check /var/root/Library and /var/root/Library/Preferences and make sure permissions are 777.
If not in terminal run
chmod 777 /var/root/Library
chmod 777 /var/root/Library/Preferences
While you're at it set mobile straight
chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile
These changes should satisify most application requirements. If problems persist then a DFU restore with J/A/U may be the ticket.
