I have read on tuaw.com and engadget.com that after plugging in my Iphone to Itunes and failing my credit check I can access Cingular's GoPhone service. Is this the pick your plan method? or Is it the Pay as you go method that allows you to just put minutes on the phone when you are low? I want to use the Iphone, but dont make that many calls, but I still want the capability. Thanks in advance for your help!

From all accounts if you use the 999-99-9999 you can use the pay as you go option which activates your phone and you pay month to month with a $10 surcharge from AT&T for using the prepaid option.

But the question I have, Is if you decide to stop after a month does AT&T notify Apple which tells iTunes to deactivate your phone? Before I take the plunge, I want to know if this is something they are planning.

I don't imagine AT&T will tell Apple... if you think about all the units they've shipped it's not really going to be logistically viable. I think once the phone is activated it will stay activated!

I have activated my first phone using the Prepaid mode, I choosed the 49$ per month. Since I´m here in Brazil and prepaid DO NOT work at international roaming I will cancel.

I tried to activate my SECOND iPhone and for my surprise, At&T CLOSED THE PREPAID PLANS ONLINE METOD, so you need to call them, say your key and they will check your "real fake Social security" unless you have one , you wont be able to activate with prepaid.

So there is no feature for simply adding minutes to the line? I really only want to pay $20 tops a month, and i dont think they have a plan for that. I just want to pay and then once I begin to run out of minutes buy a fill card and refill my iphone with minutes. I guess I wont buy one then. To bad!

Yeah, the SSN trick didn't work for me when I tried it (7/6). It just signed me up for a 2-year contract with the 9's as my SSN, lol.

Phelipe, I used the Anderson activation method and it works fine. Let me know if you find a way to use the phone in Brazil, ok?
