    Default iPhone on EVDO Network

Assume I unlock my iphone to the Alltel network using one of the various hardware methods and an Alltel SIM Card.....

Alltel uses EVDO for their wireless internet/data network which is way better than EDGE. So technically would my unlocked iphone (Alltel) be able to use the EVDO network?

    Thanks,

    Tegan

EVDO is to CDMA, what GPRS/EDGE is to GSM.
Not even using the same frequencies, and on a different kind of cellular network.

most CDMA phones don't even use SIM cards. What made you think the iPhone would ever work on this network?

Nothing really... i must have saw a few phony websites or ebay auctions claiming an unlocked iphone would work with alltel.

alltel does use sim cards in some of there newer smart phones.

its not going to work. 100% sure.

    GSM it's different to CDMA

GSM 3G = WCDMA (still very diferent)
