Default Iphone died after 4 days of usage, chances of getting a replacement?

    Hello

I had a friend who was in the states (We are both located in Norway), where he bought iphones for himself, me and a few others.

I got my phone this Saturday, and unlocked it via anysim i think its called, everything worked fine until yesterday.

When I came to work it complained about low battery (20%), i plugged it into the computer (none mac) and tried to charge it. This didn't work.
Earlier in the day when i sat into my car to drive to work, i had a weird thing happen to it: The screen went all white, then had lines of assorted colors jumping up and down on it, and same with other images.

this happened again when i tried to charge it. I then tried to restore it, but this failed (first error 1011) then [-12] i think it was.

I could then not turn it on. I have now tried to charge it over night but there does not seem to be any life in it, witch makes me to believe this is a production problem, either in the form of motherboard or battery.

My friend is going back over to the US next week, a few days over 14 days since he was there last, he will then try to return it as a faulty handset.

This is to a apple store in NY.
As the phone is dead as a dodo, and its not hw modified, should there be any problems returning it for a new handset?

    Regards
    Thomas

I think there shouldn't be any problems getting a new one, but I am afraid they wouldn't give your friend a replacement on the spot and will instead send it in for repair.

BTW, you should be extra careful what you plug into your iPhone. There was a thread a while back about some dude who plugged the iPhone into an iPod stereo kind of system at some mall and it died instantly (flashing weird stuff on the screen).

It seems like a lot of PC user are having strange problems with their unlocked Iphones. I think Mac users are more safer with unlocked Iphone as the Mac supports Iphone more than PC does. I'm personal a MAC users also and I used Anysim to unlock my phone too. It's been almost 4 days since and my phone is good in all ways (except for Bluetooth, but I dont mind that at all). The battery is also good ( last for 3 days). I hope that it' ll stay that way always.

I've been using my unlocked phone almost two weeks now, without fail. I unlocked it using Windows, and I have yet to have any trouble. It communicates fine with iTunes, and charges fine. (knocking on wood.)

I'm curious though, you are trying to tell me that an Apple machine supports the iPhone better than a Windows machine, please elaborate on exactly what differences occur between the two machines.

I'm not an expert Bro, it just that I feel that way, I'm not trying to prove anything. I just happen to see many people are having problems with Iphone on PC comparing to people who on Mac that's all. I mean you can check the forum for sure!
On the other hand, with a Mac, Itunes and driver that kind of stuffs is always there for every apple's products while you will need to download and install Itunes as a new application for apple's products, right? And when using the iphone, (i mean turning of stuff through system setting like Itunes helper for example) the process seems simpler compare to a PC.
That's all my personal thinking Bro, no further points.

You could always try to restore you iPhone by plugging it in, and holding the sleep and menu button at the same time for about 20 + seconds until you see a "connect to itunes" logo which means you put it into recovery mode. Then it will force you to restore your phone. Hope that helps.

    Hello, thought i said this
I tried everything cept opening it up.
holding buttons in with it connected or not, does not bring it back to life.
Its completely dead, witch makes me believe its a hardware problem

There is no proof of life on it, itunes cant even find it anymore
