I have been running 2.1 on a 1st Gen phone for a long while now. All of the sudden the other night it exiting all my apps. So I rebooted it and it came back with no signal bars. Checked the About screen and the IMEI and modem firmware version were missing.

I put the phone into DFU and reflashed the 2.1 software but when it came back I get a message saying "Call apple repair" or something along those lines.

I tried downgrading with the same results.

Any ideas how to fix this??
