My friend sent me my iPhone via USPS. She removed it from the box and just bubblewrapped everything individually (phone/dock/earphones/booklet etc) and then stuck it all in a padded envelope. She also threw in a CD i wanted plus a T-shirt and the total postage for the weight (to London, England) came to $13.60
On the customs form she just put gift etc, so I avoided all taxes upon entry to the UK. This is probably the cheapest rate you could get it from the US in terms of postage. Of course this isn't insured and i was shocked it had been sent that way since I assumed she would have - but I got it anyways.
1st Gen. 8GB 2.0.2 Working on Vodafone (UK), Orange (UK), LUXGSM (Luxembourg) and Dialog GSM (Sri Lanka).
