    From the Apple website:
Should Apple reduce its price on any shipped product within 10 calendar days of shipment, you may contact Apple Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 14 business days of shipment.
Mine was ordered yesterday so it sounds like I lucked out.

Well, just think of it this way, if you don't buy another phone, you've "lost" $200.. Fair enough, there was a price drop..

Now, if you buy another one for $399, you've now paid $998 (+ taxes) so in theory you've bought 2 phones for $499 each, saved $100 on each one (yesterdays prices)

but hey, buy 2 more phones at $399, and it amounts to 3 phones for $465, not a bad deal. You've basically cut your losses with each new phone purchased.

And yeah, it sucks that Apple is now raping the people less in such a short time, Steve is such a douche, he should keep up gouging people for a phone. What a bastard for dropping the price. Am I ever so glad I'm not buying one now for less, I mean it is cheaper, but the guy is a douche. I'm glad I bought it back when he wasn't a douche for raping me for $599.

Again, quit whining. (not just you, but everyone. And not just about the price drop, about everything)
Oh, you are right. I should quit whining, it is cool he did this to the people who buy most of Apple's stuff when it first comes out. Way to reward your most ardent supporters, by letting them pay a lot more than the rest of the folks.

Like I said before, if this was done six months after the release of the iPhone, that would have been more acceptable. Get over yourself.

just got off Apple store chat thing..

    Conversation went like this:

You: I heard that Apple was going to announce a "Price Protection Program" for people who have bought their iPhones recently

You: and that it would be announced when the online store went back up again

You: but I couldn't find a link anywhere.

Scott C: I am not aware of that.

Scott C: One moment while I research that for you.

Scott C: The price protection policy is 10 days prior to the announcement.

Scott C: So if you purchased it within this time frame you qualify.

You: Does it apply to iPhones purchased through an AT&T store?

Scott C: I would check with AT&T directly, since you purchased it though then, but it should.
so basically is going to an Apple store or call Apple sales.. if you bought the phone in 10 days or less.

NO!! Two months is way too soon for a price drop on a product. I bought mine just 6 days ago and now it is 200$ cheaper. Some guys over at macrumors called an Apple store and they are being offered some in-store credit.

What happens to people who got the 4GB? I just ordered it, its not even here in my hands, but I already lost 4GBs and 100USD on it. What a shame.

Any news on that? And also, since I got it through an Ebay ad, what chances I have? Or will my seller just take his request for the Price protection, and earn double on the sale?

Just return it and buy the 8GB... I bought the new Core 2 Duo Mac Mini -- The basic one and changed my mind and upgraded to the higher priced one within 1 week and they didn't charge me a restocking fee. (Didn't even have to ask for it, it wasn't even a consideration on their part).

I'm not too pissed for losing out on $200... Although it would have been nice not to, or to have gained something for being an early adopter. I'm JUST outside of my return period -- Sept 3rd was when I could still return my iPhone to Apple. Sucks to be me I guess. No price protection for me.
