hello i got iPhone 3g iOS 05.12.04
my WIFI Grayed and writes NO WIFI
the WIFI Address says "N/A"

Steps i did :
Restore
Reset Network

ok now i read a lot on Google about iRecovery so i also did the next steps:
Downgrade to iOS 3.0
used i Recovery
and the WIFI MAC was shown so its not Hardware Failure
i tried
setenv wifiAddr ......
savesenv
fsboot
reset

and it still doesnt work..

Help... ?

This technique is not applicable to your problem. That is an iOS 1.x/2.x 2G solution and doesn't apply at all to the 3G and higher. Your research was obviously inadequate.

Do some more searching, I have explained several times about how to use syslog to identify the cause of wifi problems.

im having the greyed out wifi problem too after my update from 4.0.2 to 4.2.1 ive tryed everything possible but its still greyed out every time.i found some thing on google that said it maybe possible to fix it by ssh but i cnt ssh without wifi ive tryed numerous ways honestly im getting burnedout on working on it but i cant afford a new iphone.so plz if u have any ideas help

SSH without wifi is very easy using usbmuxd

As I always say for wifi problems. Pastebin a syslog of starting the phone up and also of trying to enable wifi. Then I might be able to help you.
