Default iPhone 3g 4.1 NO WIFI Problem

    Hello everyone!

I'm new here on the forum and also in the world iPhone!
I'm really enjoying my iPhone but a problem appeared to me:

    - I do not have WiFi working... : - [

It appears written on the menu: No WiFi and I can not turn it on because it won't let me (I could before).

    I have an iPhone 3G
with FW 4.1 and baseband 05:14:02 (fruit of the last update ... I think)
it's locked, but I have it jailbreaked with redsn0w. Apparently there is no unlock for this baseband yet.

    But my wifi stopped working.
When I was installing something (I do not remember what it was) I restored the network settings (Settings / general / reset / reset network settings) and since then my wifi stopped working.

I've been looking like crazy on the net for some solution to it and I realized it was something very common in older versions of FW. So much so that some of the solutions was: Reset network settings! That was what led to my breakdown.

I do not think that is hardware problem ...

    Can you help me?

Thanks and congratulations for this community!

Why are you so sure that it is not a hardware problem? Or at least a corrupted baseband? Did you ever use blacksn0w unlock?

Have you analysed a syslog of iPhone startup and also of trying to connect to a wifi network? That is really the only definitive way to classify the type of wifi problem you actually have.

Same thing happened to me just now, under Settings, WiFi is greyed out. I think the whole Settings.app is corrupted because everything from there is weird - auto-lock timer can only be set for 2 mins, Passcode lock has been changed, my passcode no longer works.

The last app I installed before this happened was a game app called Thumpies, it has been downloaded from a korean itunes accounts (with korean language, probable cause also). I am able to connect to my WiFi network with the use of other app, so my hardware is not the problem. Already tried restore from back up, hard reset, soft reset, nothing worked.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Any networking app will do, i use iWep pro 2.0, scan for wifi networks first then type in the pass phrase manually.

I fixed my problem. Just do a restore! But make sure to back up all your apps first.
