As far as I know, you can't. 3's SIM cards are locked to only work in 3G phones and the iPhone doesn't have 3G, so...

I'd like to know too... Whether a Turbo SIM or anything could work?
The Three network uses a USIM rather than a normal SIM, which detects whether the phone is 3G capable... If it isn't, it doesn't allow the card to work in that phone.
It's done to protect Three from having to pay for a customer to roam constantly, rather than when they're just out of 3G coverage.

Turbo SIM does not work on 3 in Ireland.

But whatabout the so called 3g sim you get from AT&T when you buy the phone from the states ?

The issue is not if the SIM is a 3G sim or not from what I know the issue only involves SIM's from the Three company. i.e. vodafone 3g sims from what I have been told work fine. The Three network do not want customers using 2G phones as there network is 3G only, and customers use for example in Ireland the Vodafone network when there is no 3G coverage so three have to pay vodafone a charge for that. So three use SIM's that will only work in a 3G phone.
