Ok, let me try to make this a little easier.

Can someone tell me with great certainty which plist etc file(s) in the file system DEFINITELY controls the APN settings, and also importantly, WHERE exactly it's supposed to sit in the file system? (and any procedures that facilitate proper implementation)

Info about which files contribute to/control the GUI for the General Settings would/could be helpful to me also (for some reason i've also lost the "Carriers" option in the main Settings screen, not sure if this is related) - thanks much :->

/private/var/preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist you can edit the APN setting there.
