Default Interesting issue: No sound when iPod is playing and headset is removed

Discovered something very interesting this morning that I figured was important enough to share with the group.

I was listening to my iPhone's ipod this morning on my way to work. Upon arrival, I thought that I paused the music before removing my headset, but I guess I tapped twice on the play/pause botton and the music continued to play. Since I had lowered the volume in the lift, I didn't hear the music playing via the iPhone's speaker (??? – seems odd though).

Shortly thereafter I received a call from someone and was unable to hear them. Thinking that it was a simple reception problem (I work in a building where phone reception is not very good.), I hung up and waited for a call back and experienced the same exact thing.

It's at this point that I begin trying to find out what the problem was. I called my voicemail as well as my phone at work and I didn't hear a thing. Thinking perhaps that the headset “detector” was stuck, I reconnected my headset and discovered that the music was playing. Removing it again and uping the volume, no music was heard via the internal speakers. Strange. It’s at this point I reboot the phone and everything went back to normal after extensive testing.

Don't know what you all think or if any of your have experienced similar behaviour, but to my thinking, this is a bug if I ever saw one. Anyone run into something similar?

I think this is a "feature".
When I want to stop the music, I just unplug the headphones and the music stops playing, there's no need to take the iPhone out.

I had this issue, and the reboot was not solving it.... I called apple support, and they recognized it as a bug...

The problem is that the Iphone, by some wierd reason does not recognized that the headphone was removed, so it keeps playing though the headphone.

The solution (worked for me 2/ 3 times already), is plug the headphone, make a call, and then remove the headphoen during the call.

Agreed. Apple implemented this feature on the 5th generation iPods. However, what I experienced this morning was not normal behavour for any electronic device.

it's the anySim app. Always does this

    use iUnlock.pxl instead.

    if volume is low.
go to the phone dial and fake call or reall call.

and the sound should come back!

    Could be different or related:

This low audio issue appears to be a hardware defect on Apple's part. Even people with unmodified phones report very poor audio from the earpiece speaker. Serial number series seems to make no difference whether you have 7R7, 7S7, 7T7 or WH8 or V0R. My advice, return it and get a new one, this is unacceptable for such an expensive device. I think the Revision B iPhone will be the one to have, which I bet arrives in stores just in time for Christmas.

Huh? This issue has nothing to do with the software crack, which was done via other means than the Dev team's unlock.
