Discuss Information policy at the General - Hackint0sh.org; Hi,

I think I speak for many users here in saying that the information policy of the dev team and the elite team right now sucks. Don't get me wrong, they have done great work on the previous unlocks, jailbreaks and activations and I have nothing against them personally (how could I?).
I am not a pro but not a total noob either. I read a lot here and on other sites. Right now, I own two UK 1.1.2 iPhones (or expensive iPod Touchs to be exact); Jailbroken and activated but not unlocked. I have had them since December and at about three occassions I would have bought *Sim-cards for them but was held back by rumours of a SW-Unlock, or the release of 1.1.3.
Who is the dev team?
Who is the elite team?
If they can't say, can they name a spokesperson?
Are they still working on the things the people who donate want the most?
Situation right now, as far as I see it
SW-Unlock for 1.1.2 OOTB:
Is anyone still working on this?
Geohot doesn't see it coming and states reasons for this. Zibri says its coming, but does not say what he bases this on.
As some people seem to think, Geohot could just say that because he has a working HW-Unlock and does not want to continue working on the SW-Unlock.
Zibri, on the other hand, might just say it's coming because Geohot "got there" first and he likes the attention/donations/whatever.
What do the *-teams have to say about this?
Jailbreak for 1.1.3:
The jailbreak is done but will not be released before the SDK-launch, which might be on 29-Feb, or later.
Why is it not released?
Theories (no reason given from anyone in the know):
-Apple might counteract it (I bet, if they were that worried, they could do a "security update" to the firmware whenever they wanted. Before the SDK-launch, after it, whenever they want.)
-The current method is a) to hard for the general noob or b) involves a hardware method. (If so, why not just say it?)
And why do they - Zibri in screenshots on his blog, others in videos on youtube - need to parade the jailbreak before our noses, if don't intend to release it for the time being?
I think these questions need to be answered. Of course, the *-teams don't owe us an explanation, but they should give it, if they want to keep their reputation (if they still want our praise, donations and support.)
Just my two cents.
(If anyone from the *-teams, Geohot or Zibri feels offended by this post, please be assured that this was not my intention.)
I completely agree with you. I would add that there is a problem with the information policy AND the donations policy. A donation made under the understanding that they would deliver anything they would find is not the same as a donation knowing that they were going to wait until February. This is a game, indeed, but I am not sure who is beeing fooled here: Apple or us?
I think the only person I have any faith left in is GeoHot, he doesn't seem to have any selfish motivations. Just to help the community. The other teams seem like they're in some sort of cult that can't speak to the outside world.
J to the T. Shaken, not Stirred
I think that parading the JB around, as you said, is the biggest problem of all. It is extremely unfair for them to be posting screenshots and vids detailing a process that we are being held back from. Making it even worse, there are so many people on this forum that are blindly loyal to the *teams and they will eat any fud that is thrown at them.
Thank you to whoever of the moderators moved the thread to the genral forum.
