    Default iNdependence 1.2.2 Question

Hello i activated my iPhone into 1.1.1 manually with the DevTeam Instructions. Everything is working great except that i have 2.5Gb Loss from ("Others"-iTunes). Now the phone is back to Jail and i can't SSH via CyberDuck. SSH works only with Terminal. Can i jailbreak the phone with the new iNdependence, install again SSH and solve this problem or i have to downgrade to 1.0.2 and do this with the instructions from the Help menu. Thanks a lot.

The reason you can not connect to cyberduck is that the iPhone is missing the sftp-server file.

You need to transfer the sftp-server file to:

    scp -rp sftp-server root@xxx.xxx.x.xx:/usr/libexec/

If you don't have the file, PM me
If at first you don't succeed, don't try skydiving

ctrl-mouseclick on independence 1.2.2 (or 1.2.1), choose "open package" in menu to open the package. open "Contents" and then "Ressources", sftp-server is in there.

did you do the last step from dev teams tutorial?

    STEP 7: CLEAN UP

You've now successfully jailbroken your iPhone and set up shop. Congratulations!

Before you can sync, you will need to remove the symlink you created:

    rm /var/root/Media
    mv /var/root/Media.old /var/root/Media

Thanks Guys, SSH is Back and running. Yes i did run the last 2 commands but the problem is that now that SSH is back i have: Library, Media, MediaBackup this file is 2.4Gb, and this is what i want to get rid off. If i just delete it? What do you you think?
Please anyone what to do with MediaBackup?

Whoa Nellie! Don't delete MediaBackup! When you ran Trip1Prepz way back at the beginning of your upgrade process it took your 1.0.2 "Media" folder and renamed it "MediaBackup". Trip1Prepz then created an empty "Media" folder (also known as the symlink). When you upgraded, the upgrade may have done some funky things to your "Media" folder, but you didn't care because the good stuff was hidden in MediaBackup.

Now that you've done all the other steps of your upgrade you need to switch your "Media" folders yet. I recommend that you save the symlink you created as a backup, since I think you may need to re-switch them again for some programs to recognize your 1.1.1 phone as jailbroken (such as iNdepdendence).

    From ssh:

    mv /var/root/Media /var/root/Media_sym
    mv /var/root/MediaBackup /var/root/Media

(The first command backs up your symlink to "Media_sym"; the second command returns your MediaBackup to its proper "Media" name).

If you don't put "MediaBackup" back to "Media", iTunes will not recognize your phone and you'll be restoring and doing this all again.

If you delete MediaBackup you'll lose all the good tunes and data you've put on your iPhone!

Are you saying that BSD, SSH and stuff are stored in MediaBackup? If i delete it i will lose connection with the iPhone? I have already Synced with iTunes and i think that everything is in Media now. MediaBackup has Music, Photos and iTunes Sync file the same files exists also in Media Folder.

Hmmmmm. A smart person knows when to take a step back, and what you're telling me doesn't gybe with my experiences (and I wonder if iNdependence 1.2.2 does something different that I'm not aware of since I upgraded and activated before iNdependence came out).

It may take awhile, but perhaps you want to backup your MediaBackup folder to your Mac hard drive just in case after you delete it you find things aren't working. Worst case scenario of deleting it, of course, is that you'll have to restore and start over.

I would like to double check by looking in my own "Media_sym" folder to see what's in there (as compared to my Media folder), but I won't have access to a wireless network (and thus can't ssh into my phone) until later tonight. Question -- what is the size of your "Media" folder if your MediaBackup is so large? Are they the same size?
