So I am to understand if we're at 1.02, we can simply use iTunes to update to 1.1.1 and then use independence to jaibreak, install SSH and then to activate? (assuming I used IPSF and not AnySim)??? So I don't need to do the 1TripPrez or whatever trick when updating?

Also would the same go for an anysim unlocked 1.02 phone? However once jailbroke and activated install and run !FSP 1.6 to unbrick it? Or how would this go?

I have two phones, one with IPSF, then other with AnySim. Don't reply if you're recommendation is to what for AnySim 1.1.1 as I've already got IPSF licenses. Cheers.

You need to follow the instructions in iNdependence 1.2.2 - there is a Firmware tab that takes you through it - but no you do not need the 1TripPrez or whatever trick - this app does it all for you - but follow the instructions.

I don't know if it works with anySim

at teh "pre 1.1.1 upgrade" stage i always get an error after i've typed in my IP and root PW:

FAILED - Host verification failed. Would you like iNdependence to try and fix this for you by editing ~/.ssh/known_hosts?

When i click on "yes" it doesn't help.

    any suggestions?

    fantastic news!

anyone actually tried it yet on a phone with 1.0.2 with a hARRo unlock yet. I'm assuming we'll have to wait for an updated anySim right?

thanks again Operator for all your hard work

Close down iNdependence and you need to run the following commands in terminal

    cp ~/.ssh/known_hosts ~/.ssh/known_hosts.old
    grep -v HOST ~/.ssh/known_hosts.old > ~/.ssh/known_hosts

Then re-run the iNdependence should be all cool

    Open up terminal and type:

    rm ~/.ssh/known_hosts

    Hit Enter, then you're done.

is there anybody who has successfully used independence to upgrade an "iphonesimfree" unlocked 1.0.2 phone to 1.1.1!?

during the "Pre 1.1.1 Upgrade" - after approx. 30 seconds - I always get the following error message:

"Couldn't connect to SSH server. Ensure IP address is correct, phone is connected to a network, and SSH is installed correctly."

SSH, however, is set up correctly!

    any ideas!?
