Incorporating iPhone into Car
What products and ways are people using to incorporate their iPhones into their cars?
I have a 2004 Liberty (same as the US's Legacy) with the Premium Pack. The CD player/climatecontrol all can't be removed and replaced with an aftermarket unit which could incorporate controls a little better.
I have a fm transmitter. But, I think some sort of discrete cradle would be really good to use- to view video in the car and use google maps.
What are the rest of you doing in regards to this front? I'd love to hear of some products to use, or what people are doing.
Cheers, Richard

Just a quick word of warning. I plugged my iPhone into my Griffin Roadtrip which I used for my iPod, and iPhone threw up the inevitable "This accessory is not designed for iPhone" message. The device itself is an FM transmitter and charger, and one of the best devices I've used.
But I started the engine with my iPhone in the Griffin cradle, hooked up to the cigarette lighter of my car...and to cut a long story short, I think I fried some of my iPhone because it kept crashing when waking up from locked. Apple replaced it but only after some persuasion....!
I'm going to hold off on plugging my iPhone into my car anytime soon...

For my case, I'm driving a MY06 Subaru Legacy which comes with the macintosh system. What i did was to purchase a Clarion ipod adaptor, and plug the iphone in. It read, and volume can be controlled fron the head unit. I'm still figuring out how to setup a playlist, as if using a ipod, i need to create a playlist under Clarion 1 , Clarion 2 and so on. By using this method i can use the disc 1 - 6 button to select the playlist, but for the iphone, this method seems like it can't work.

Comes with a macintosh system? How does that work? I'm guessing mie doesn't have a macintosh system. I've read about people using a cable to substitute their cd changer for their ipod (no word on iphone). this sounds a bit cumbersom.
How do you mount your iphone?

What are the options for an iPhone mount in the car? is there one that turns 90 degrees for video/maps viewing?
Be a good idea
