I think we got some at&t lovers here. Anyway, it all depends where you live. If you live in like hawaii, don't expect to have the best service, for example.

    P.S. I don't like in hawaii.

"AT&T lovers"? I think you meant to say "TMO lovers" because ive yet to see an AT&T poster just go off when someone says tmo is better. Tmo guys on the other hand can't read someone else saying they like AT&T 'cause they just go apeshit up in here. "what are you smoking?" "in what world you live in" "j.d p&a says tmo is the best" and so on and so on........

Now just call att and tell them your going on a trip to the uk and you need the phone unlocked for that time period. they have to unlock the phone for you. its the damn law. i have T-mobile and i've unlocked several phones through them. Some one should give them a call and ask because its been 3 months since iphone came out and im 99% sure they're not going to ask you for the ticket for the trip. (but you never know its att.)
Dream on. I already know dozends of AT&T customers who called them asking about an unlock, at least after the 2-year contract expires. AT&T reply (unisono): no way, we don't unlock iPhones. Never.

Apple is a hypocrit and I tell you why: over here in Germany, T-Mobile will offer the iPhone exclusively and apparently ONLY through T-Mobile shops. Now here's the customer "friendly" part: you can't get an iPhone if you don't sign up for a 2-year contract with T-Mobile. Period. This is actually a very fair business policy because there can't be any doubt about what is possible and what isn't.
Apple USA is selling FREELY without contracts, phones to customers. Whoever comes into an Apple Store, he can buy one, two or even five iPhones. Apple doesn't care what the customer does with these phones afterwards because otherwise this policy wouldn't be in effect and they would force buyers to subscribe to AT&T first before putting the iPhone into their cute white Apple Store bag. Apple is a hypocrit in this matter because they want to sell as many iPhones as they can (and they did) but on the other hand they PUNISH those who bought them, giving them some legal crap or doing what I am doing all the time in this forum: asking people if they can READ (the tiny little letters with the warning on the iPhone packaging).

If Apple would be fair and honest regarding iPhone sales, they would restrict selling iPhones ONLY to AT&T customers and/or fresh subscribers. They (Apple) wanted our money and now they do everything possible to brick our phones and to get even more money from us because we may buy a second one or at least an "official" one in our own countries if and when available. Very clever strategy but to be honest, this is much worse than everything I ever heard from Microsoft.

Look at the current NOKIA campaign, they know exactly what they're doing and trust me, sooner or later, Apple will get the message. I hope it won't be too late.
