An interesting side story

my 14-day "date" is tomorrow, I bought it at the Apple store locally on the 23rd. The store closed for remodeling on the 27th and won't be open again till the 14th (outside of the window)

I just called Apple support and they tell me that the store will honor the 14-day after they open back up next week.


BTW, This falls under the category of "price protection" and not a "return" so I would assert that you should be able to walk into any Apple store, prove that you bought it within the 14-day price protection window any time reasonably within the next couple of weeks and still be eligible for the price protection. (that's how other stores work it)

oh, by the way. The guy on the phone told me that I could go to another store to get the refund as well. So those of you outside of the US may want to try to go to the local Apple store and ask for the credit. It's worth a shot.

Quick question:

Will I have any problems going to the AT&T Store I bought my 4GB iPhone from on Sunday and return it this Saturday and get an 8GB for less?

As well, the AT&T Stores should already have adjusted the 8GB price, right?

My cousing went there with a copy of the receipt, and I justed received the email showing credit of $200 on my visa card.

Is the Price-Protection policy in the U.S. limited to 14days and not 30days? My 14days ended on the 29th Aug... :S

give my dad a scanned image of my reciept and get my refund
i talked to the guy at the apple store via phone he wont' give me the refund

anyways i'll update on what happens
oh the guy at the apple store was very friendly about it also and he said fax or scanned copy of the reciept is ok

has to be someone in the store that has a physical reciept he said maybe they have to sign somehting?? not sure
i was even asking maybe i can jsut fax it right now to you at the store but he wont' do it and he asked the manger also

Call the corporate Apple Store directly 1-800-MY-APPLE. You should be able to get them to help you.
