Exclamation [FW 1.1.1] I plugged my iphone into my im7, now it wont turn on..

greetings guys, i just need your help on this matter

i plugged my iphone into my altec im7 boombox and the phone started acting up. the screen flickered black and white so i took it out of the im7 dock and turned it off. when i turned the iphone back on, it had a logo that told me to connect the phone to itunes, I did that but itunes couldnt recognize the phone so i turned it off then on again. the phone turned on and off then finally went dead..

i tried system restore by pressing the home and sleep button at the same time, still nothing..

whats wrong with the phone? last time i connected the iphone to the im7, it said "not compatible". I figured it would just project the same message so i was really surprised when the phone started acting up!

i would really appreciate any help in restoring my iphone, i just hope the im7 hasnt done any permanent damage.. thanks in advance

you should have used the search button, the members of this forum are going to flame you for this jaja.

ohh and i am sorry to tell you, but iphones are not to be used with any 3rd party hardware not specifically prepared for iphone, ipods use a diferrent voltage, i believe 10v or so, and iphone uses 5v. (i think i am wrong with the numbers, but iphone uses less voltage) so when you plug an iphone into an old speaker system made an for ipod, your iphone goes kaput, or in other words, something inside your iphone fried.

you are going to have to take this to apple, i hope they can get you a new one, but if you didnt activated it with atnt, its going to be hard.

try to search the forum, a lot of people had have these problem and taken it to apple, maybe you can find a way to trick the apple.

sorry, i did try a search but i didnt find what i was looking for. or maybe im just not typing in the right keywords.. thanks for the reply refu86, so something really did get fried inside the phone..crap..i dont think i can even claim apple's warranty, the iphone's not being sold yet here in our country.

what i dont get is there's a guy who posted on another iphone forum who replied to my post sayin that he still uses his iphone w/ an im7 w/ no problems, just the message poppin up saying "not compatible" but he just bypasses that and he can play his iphone on his im7. and he's running on 1.1.2

    Unfortunalely..... your phone is fried,

the voltage that is regularly used on Ipod Devices is higher , than the Iphone, most likely your iphone data port and conectvity circuitry is burned..

    sorry about that...
