hi folks, come across a problem and any help would be much appreciated. Imported a new 8 Gb i-phone from America a while back. Seemed to be working fine but now all of a sudden, the bottom row of buttons do not work in text, e-mail, youtube and safari. (in text for example it is the exclamations button, space bar and return which do not function). If safari is turned to landscape all of the buttons work fine. I have restored and went through the jail-break routine a few times since but the problem persists. As it has been brought from America i have no warranty here.

try restoring locks with ziphone? i know im gonna get diggs for that lol!

but thats the only solution i can think of, replaces bootloader baseband and firmware...

because this issue could be messing with the baseband or bootloader, this means a restore would not fix it...

im not saying this would work, just a guess

But if you rotate your iPhone the buttons are in a different part of your screen.

Maybe the actual touch part of the bottom of your screen is broken.

Does it work sometimes? or in some applications but not others ???

I remember seeing a "sensitivity" fix that boosted the sensitivity part of your screen.... can't remember where...

the buttons at the bottom never work in safari, text, e-mail or youtube but always work fine in all other applications! Cannot work it out at all!!

Guys, i did post something two weeks ago on the french iphone forum, it happens to me also under 1.1.4 but only a few bottom lines at the beginning..

Couldn't get access to the Space bar....123...and so on

Then it went to the entire icons at the bottom, then back gain one day (by miracle ;o) to only a few lines, and now stuck with the icons un responsive again "an inch"

I tried evry f... possiblity of resyoring, back to 1.1.2, tried Zibri, tried Iliberty, tried to pwned with a mac.....no way.

I have put back the phone on the 4.6 BL, using Bootneuter...No way either )

I called apple, and i have been honest with the fact that my phone was hacked, the guy was kool and told me to restore....and also delete all the temp files from itune.....the restore again fro DFU Mode ..................

I am still locked with the entire icons at the bottom of the screen unresponsives...

My next move will be to try to go down in baseband and firmware and BL to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 and Dg BL in 3.9, I brick, virginize....

2 weeks ago i was almost alone with this problem, but i have the bad feelind that weither it is a hard or soft problem...we are goind to be more and more ( And like you, i do beleive it has something to do with the upgrade in 1.1.4, but i cannot remember if the problems came out just afer upgrade....

it also happened to me like 3 or 4 month ago. I've read the sensitivity solution but....I NEED TO CONECT TO WIFI.... i can't put the password without the keayboard key to turn the nunbers on.... well y gave up and just change to my old phone again.
