Default I have a question about the capacity plz? ( 300 mb???)

Ok my friend activated his phone thru iTunes (not unlocked) then I helped him jailbreaked via jailbreakme.com, upgraded installer etc.., we didn't put any video or music in his phone, but I helped him to put some ringtones via winSCP ( w Mecca), there were 3 full songs I put in ringtones folder.... The thing is iPhone displayed a note about deleting music and video in order to have more space even though we checked thru iTunes, it still has >7 gb left, => setting general about = same thing... So the question: Is that the same situation as some people reported about 300mb capacity ?

and another one is I was trying to follow their thread's instruc which is delete the media folder... But I don't c the "oldmedia" folder as they said??? Should it appear after I deleted the media one?
Plz help me w this situation thx in advance

There are a lot of threads about this. Internal storage is 300 MB. It's different from the capacity you see in iTunes. Version 1.0.2 use about 150 MB. 1.1.1 and later are about 240 MB. So internal is quite quickly full. That's why you need to move the Applications or Fonts folder to the other storage and replace the folder with a simlink.

this problem happened to me and my friend.
here is how i fixed it, was quite easy, requires no SSH or any command line stuff.

I'm gonna assume you are on 1.1.1, go to installer and add a new source: http://i.unlock.no
then go to install section and scroll all the way down and you'll see a sectioncalled unlocking tools, look in there...

    choose The virginizer 04.x
run this program, this will flash your baseband and fix your problem.
once thats done, then proceed with a simple restore via itunes to 1.1.1

once ya restore to 1.1.1 then do your preferred jailbreak and unlock method.
personally i like the http://jailbreakme.com method, its easy and quick.
please note, if ya do that website and safari crashes but nothing happens after 1min...reboot the iphone (on/off) and try again, sometimes the server flakes out but it should kick in eventually.

once ya done the jailbreak, install BSD, reboot again
    then install anysim1.1
    and unlock it.

i can confirm that running the virginizer 4.x does indeed fix the 300mb problem, downside is you gota start from zero, to restore, jailbreak and unlock iphone but problem will be cured.

note, running virginzer takes about 10min so be patient.

here is direct link if ya wanan learn mroe about it:

what was your baseband? if you were on 4.x then u should run 4.x viriginizer
once you virginize it once you are good to go.
please understand the viriginzer basically wipes it clean so u can start fresh again.
once its clean you can hack it as you wish.
i'm basically showing you how to remove the 300mb problem without having to use ssh or any command line stuff.

if i were you i'd double check your baseband version to make sure you run the proper version of viriginizer.
