If you are in a data enabled area without edge but gprs do you still get the e symbol.

    Is tmobile UK edge complaint?

Yes, that "E" is EDGE network. Yes, if you are data enabled you get that "E". You will not get a GPRS symbol... this iPhone version have only "E". Yes... you will have to find out what is the APN name :

The "E" should mean that Edge is available. On my old SE k790i I would get an "E" when Edge was available and "G" when plain old GPRS was available.

My wife's iPhone got an "E" even though she didn't have her data settings correctly set (and didn't even have a data plan). So the existence of the "E" doesn't mean that you can actually access the Edge network until you setup your Edge settings.

I don't know what the T-Mobile UK Edge settings are, but there are other threads on this board that discuss them, and there are also quite a few websites out there that publish the various data settings for GSM networks.

I have gprs settings in the phone.

I could not find if there was a different APN or user/password for edge.

If there is could someone post the UK TMOBILE edge settings.

T-Mobile UK don't offer Edge, only GPRS/3G/HSDPA - and the settings are the same for all...

This is my settings and I used these on my Vario II for HSDPA!
    apn: general.t-mobile.uk
    username: t-mobile
    password: password

The only UK provider offering Edge is Orange as far as I know...

They are the correct settings and as stated T-mobile Uk do not offer edge as of yet. when you input those into the apn settings you get a rejection message appear on the phone!
